On 23 March HMRC released a wealth of consultation documents and calls for evidence. Usually released on Budget days, some of these will have a direct impact on practising accountants and their clients.

In the 31 March episode of her popular AccountingWEB Live digital show Tax Talk, expert host Rebecca Benneyworth MBE looks closer at the fallout from ‘Tax Day’ with her guest Paul Aplin OBE. The two tax experts will take accountants through the key areas which are likely to affect them and their clients. They will also highlight HMRC and HM Treasury thinking to bring you up to speed with what the next few years may hold in tax practice.

The episode is a live Q&A, with audience members invited to leave questions for Paul and Rebecca plus take part in the live debate. Those who can’t attend on the day can register to watch the episode on demand at their leisure.

Paul Aplin is best known as a past president of ICAEW, a former Chair of the ICAEW Tax Faculty and Tax Faculty Technical Committee and a member of CIOT Council. An enthusiast for using digital technology to improve business and tax administration, Paul filed the UK's first electronic self assessment tax return in 1997 making him the perfect person to talk tax and tech with Rebecca.

Tax Talk is a popular live panel discussion, hosted by Rebecca Benneyworth and building on AccountingWEB’s reputation as a place for trusted tax and compliance advice. It is currently sponsored by AccountingWEB Live Premium Partner FreeAgent. Tax Talk will form a key part of the AccountingWEB Live Expo’s content programme this December, with Rebecca and a host of tax experts hosting live debates from the show floor plus a selection of clinics, keynotes and workshops.
